The OG Xmen cartoon was a staple of my unstable childhood. Being knocked around by my mom’s boyfriends and my dad’s wife, parents on drugs, DEA raids on my house while i was at school to shut down my abuser’s meth lab; Xmen was the stability and comfort I needed.
It’s back and it has caught up with life in too many corresponding, mirroring ways. And it’s worth it. Beau Demayo has done something very special here.
In his words:
I still need time for mine.
